Believe it or not, these symptoms are quite easy to resolve!
THE PROBLEM:
Most depression, anxiety and PMS/PMT symptoms are caused by dietary factors and hormone imbalances.
In our modern world we are exposed to a great deal of stress. It doesn't matter whether you are consuming poor quality food, alcohol, sugar, caffeine or whether you are experiencing relationship, financial or work related stress, staying up late, suffering chronic pain and inflammation, living in a polluted environment, etc. Your body responds in the same way!
1. STRESS OVERLOAD: Your adrenal glands produce more of a hormone called cortisol. Higher cortisol levels lead to weight gain around the middle, a dampening of your immune system, a loss of muscle mass, reduced digestive function and many other symptoms.
2. STRESS FATIGUE: Over time, your adrenal glands get tired, especially if your stress continues. The cortisol starts to get too low and you will feel tired - especially in the mornings and mid-afternoons, respond unfavourably to exercise and may develop depression and anxiety, as well as headaches, fuzzy thinking and skin and digestive problems.
3. STRESS EXHAUSTION: Eventually, the adrenal glands burn out and their ability to produce these important hormones wanes. Once this happens weight gain, chronic fatigue, arthritis, low blood pressure, poor memory and many other very unpleasant symptoms can result.
During this process, the sex hormones - estrogen, progesterone, testosterone - will also become imbalanced. This can lead to depression, anxiety, PMS, cyclical headaches (all because of low progesterone in women), low libido, erectile dysfunction, muscle loss and other symptoms.
THE SOLUTION:
All the symptoms listed above can be resolved quite easily.
First, a simple saliva test for hormone levels can be performed. This test can be done at home and is called the Adrenal Stress Index. It tests for stress hormone levels - cortisol and DHEA. It is also possible to run a variety of tests to look at sex hormones.
Second, dietary and lifestyle changes may need to be made in order to optimise hormone balance. This is a key stage.
Third, a supplement program, based on the results of the lab test, is used for 4-6 months to help rebalance the hormone system and support the adrenal glands.
Fourth, the appropriate exercise program can be utilised to help recovery.
You will be absolutely amazed at just how effective this simple and inexpensive program can be.
